River Of Stone

River of Stone

I get in my car ,and my
journey begins on this
river of stone. As I grow
older, oh how I think of my
happiness to come on this
river of stone.

I drive by a school and
out side, a homeless man
stands, holding a sign, which
says Will Work for food, on
the banks of this river of stone.

Next to him, stands a woman
with a briefcase, at least one
was able to make a career on
this river of stone.

Now I'm sitting next to her
on this river of stone. Oh the
miracle we are soon to make
as we add a little one to our
journey on this river of stone.

Now I end my journey on
this river of stone. My ship
has crashed and is burning.
I am surrounded by flame,
but what, tis a light I see, and
only a window separates me
from it.

Whether I am cast into
eternal flame, or called into the
light, God will decide my fate,
at the end of this old river of stone.
